Service acceptable-billing sucks-double billed

Received a text message I had a balance due-I paid my co-pay at time of service,called billing,he said I needed to pay 2 co-pays because they performed 2 sets of x-rays=what? never heard of such a thing,so they will double check,next thing I got was a text 'reminding me of outstanding balance(I still have not received a bill) Called billing again to request a bill-they emailed,then wanted me to pay,-no,I need to check with my medicare provider(I noticed on the invoice,I was only credited $5.34 of the $50 I paid.Checked with medicare=nope all bills have been paid-you owe nothing,and give them our number to verify.This is where it stands now.

I had an MRI appointment this morning at 7:45am. When I checked in I was told I owed because I hadn't met my deductible or out of pocket.

I said that information isn't correct. Both have been met so my MRI should be covered at 100%. She said well that's not what it shows. So instead of saying we'll bill your insurance and you will be responsible for what they don't cover like every one else has done.

She wouldn't let me continue with my appointment until I paid. So I had to pull up my insurance and show proof. I told her if someone would have called me to let me know what I owed. We could have taken care of this over the phone.

When I provided her proof she then asked if I could email that to touchstone. So she could print it out. So I basically did someone's job for them. She then asked me if I received the text messages to answer the questions for my appointment.

No evidently someone didn't do that job either.
Then the MRI tech had to stick me twice for the contrast. I've had this done millions of times.

I've never been stuck twice.
I'm going to give Touchstone imaging the benefit of the doubt. And say hopefully it's the location and just not the company in general.
If my Dr didn't use them I would go elsewhere.

So I wont get a bill in the mail?

Nope!

They printed the bill which indicated my copay was zero. I still didnt believe it, especially judging by all the billing problems people have mentioned in online reviews. Sure enough, I got a bill via email exactly 2 weeks later with my copay amount. Theyll tell you it takes time to verify your information with your insurance company which is a lie since copay information is always readily available.

This is a slimy, greedy and unethical business practice: Its easy to pay at the time of service when youre there and involved, but if they send you a bill theres a good chance youll miss it, or forget and pay late.

Then they can charge you a late fee, or sell the debt to collections and make even more money from you. The problem is, youre not going to find a respectable imaging place in Texas because that, like most other medically-related services have been outsourced to greedy corporations that are only interested in squeezing as much money as possible from the patient.

Over billing and treatment of clients.

Your receptionist told me when I called to schedule my appointment that my portion of the bill would be $284.00. She asked if that was okay and told her yes.

I paid the fee on the day of service. No one told me I would have additional fees or costs. Now you send me a bill for over $800.00. I wont pay it.

You should live up to your promises. You wouldnt like to be treated this way, so why do you treat your clients this way. I would not have agreed to a scan that was going to cost me over $1,100.00 after insurance. I will be sure to share my story with all my referring doctors.

My doctor is supposed to schedule me for a follow up scan with you guys in 6 months. That certainly wont happen with your organization.

Cheaters. Cant be trusted.

The place is awful. I got to the window and the lady at the window was to busy talking to her friend and wasn't paying attention and charged my debit care too much!

Don't waste your time. Look here and on Google on how many people complain about the same thing !!!

And apparently I am not the only one complaining so if this is you then maybe do your job and don't worry about the social hour. It's a job.

Don't do your job right then let someone else do it. Just like the morning of they argued with me saying my deductible wasn't met. I called my insurance company to get involved.

So yes I did make sure. Maybe don't socialize when a PATIENT is there.

I did and I told her twice to only take a certain amount. She said let me try and and still took it out.

She didn't hear me because she was too busy talking.

They need a whole new staff in the front of the downtown front office. Too busy socializing. THEY DO NOT take payment plans so if it's $2000 no matter what they say when you call

Money is more important apparently they don't hold their staff accountable! There is a time and place and talking about sinning and being 5 years old kissing someone and French kissing someone is a sin. Yes while I am checking in and she wasn't paying attention and overcharged my card. FYI I called that morning to make sure I can pay the remaining in a bill and I was told YES. WASTED $40 getting there for them to tell me they don't bill no one.

Unprofessional and poor service

My spine doctor gave me a referral and told me to schedule an MRI. I scheduled one with Touchstone Lafayette, CO.

I waited to hear from my spine doctor about the results (which showed a bulge in a disc). Having heard nothing about 3.5 weeks later, I called the spine doctor who said they had not received the MRI. I called Touchstone and was told they tried to fax it ONCE and the fax failed. They did nothing after that - they did not contact me; they did not contact the doctor.

Nothing.

I asked them to contact the doctors office and get the right fax. They told me I could call the doctor and have the doctor call them. They were going to continue to do nothing. They also said I could come over and pick it up and take ity myself to the doctor.

Meanwhile I have been in pain waiting for a consultation about the MRI.

This is absolutely unacceptable conduct.

At a minimum, they should have contacted me in the first place. I cannot understand why they didnt contact the doctors office and ask for the fax number when the fax failed to send.

My only conclusion is that they had no desire to be either helpful to or concerned about the patient.

Company has not returned my calls

Don't believe the positive reviews, they are deceptive billing. I was scheduled for an MRI with contrast of my wrist, first I was scheduled for the following day, but that night I got a voicemail that the appointment was canceled as they were still waiting on insurance approval, then A few weeks later, they called and the procedure was scheduled, but the day of the appointment I was told by staff that my insurance had denied the procedure.

Then I met with the financial staff, Since my insurance was denied, I could choose to not use my insurance, and instead, I could just pay the self-pay rate for the procedure. I paid the fee for which was told it took care of everything. Now weeks later I got another bill and called and spoke with staff stating that I had only paid for 1 procedure and that the rest of the MRI tasks were still pending insurance approval. I explained this was not at all what I was told on the day I paid for the MRI with/contrast.

The staff on 8/18/23 I spoke with had warned me, that by not using my insurance, and paying the self-pay rate, I couldn't apply the charge toward my insurance out-of-pocket max. I agreed. Now they are claiming I only paid for one part of the entire procedure. Read the other reviews of others who have had the SAME issue with their errant billing practices.

GET ANY FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS IN WRITING as they will pull the bait and switch. Go with another imaging company that does NOT engage in deceptive billing practices.

I had a procedure done at the Southlake facility and they claimed it was not covered by insurance. After talking to my insurance company it was fully covered at no "out of pocket" expense to me. I was still charged $199.00 and it took 6 weeks to finally get someone to give me a statement to file with my insurance company. Over two hours calling today and numerous other days attempting to get in touch with billing. Today I was lucky and talked to a very nice lady who helped me out. Overall I would avoid this company if I had a choice.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I was billed many times in about a 3-4 months span. It turns out that they never billed my insurance company at all and blamed some machine error ???Today, I was e-mailed that their machine had been corrected and that everything should be ok.

I had a three-way conversation with United Health Care and Touchstone weeks ago. United has paid the MRI charge in full but I keep getting a past due billing from Touchstone. Please get your house in order an quit sending me an overdue bill. If you doubt this, call United health care. This company is the worse I have every seen.

If you have insurance, DO NOT pay in advance. They currently owe me $530. They are refusing to refund until they receive the EOB that I already have! I have cancer and Touchstone does not have the right to keep my moneyand they billed me AGAIN after I paid. Their manager is conveniently in a meeting. I wont be using Touchstone again. Its too bad too. The service itself was great.

Touchstone Medical Imaging - I want to file a complaint
I had an appointment at Touchtone Imaging (Forrest Lane Location). On October 17th I had an appointment for a MRI. They could not do the scan because they did not have a wide table. When I walked in there and went to the window they told me with my insurance I had to pay 48.73. I have been trying to get my money back since that day and they are giving me the runaround. No it's not much but it's my money. I'm going to file a formal complaint!!!

Horrible experience this week

WOW! What a great title for a website.

I do not get upset too often but I am over the top pissed! First, a few months ago, I received a bill with a balance from 2020. I called and they had no idea why but I paid assuming I owed it. Now after this week, I am starting to wonder if it was just another error.

My doctor sent an order for me to schedule an MRI. I needed to have done this week since I am leaving town for 10 days and meet with the doctor shortly after my return. The scheduling center called and after a lot of patience on my part, we finally scheduled for Southlake on Saturday, July 15 at 2:30, check in at 2:15. When she was confirming all of my info, she asked if my insurance was still BCBS.

I have not had that in I don't know how long!! She had the wrong person in the system even though I confirmed my identity through multiple questions. I have a feeling it was my daughter since after we hung up, I got a text saying her name was needing to call and make an appointment. Her last name is not mine.

I asked my daughter and of course she did not need an appt. A few days later, I get a call saying I am needing to set an appt. I told the new caller what all happened and she said nothing in the system so we started over. At the end she said insurance pre authorization was needed and she didn't know if they could get it before I leave.

We both called my doctor's office and were able to get an approval. I called Touchstone back and at first she said no appt on the schedule but as we were talking she found it and said pre approval came through. My doctors office also called me to make sure all was good and I told them the whole story. She confirmed pre approval and appt set for Southlake 2:30 Saturday, July 15.

I got there today and guess what!!! No one there except receptionist. No appts left for today. The techs left at 1.

I am beside myself since I leave tomorrow for 10 days. She said can you call tomorrow? Sure, while I am on vacation, I will work that into my schedule. She did give me the direct phone number so I don't have to work with the call center but I am not sure at this point if I will try anymore.

I will be calling my doctor to see what other options there are. I have gone to Touchstone for years for mammograms, etc.

I can't even think about going now. We will see.

That’s probably because the billing is handled in Panama. Another place that sends off for cheaper rates that end up causing consumers to pay more. Imaging centers r not even BBB accredited
